Today, several of us want to have a strong identity online. If you have a blog, you want it to stand out and you want your readers to build a connection with you, as a person. This helps you have an identity that’s unique against millions of others.
Ask Yourself the following questions:
Is what you’re doing, your true passion?
This sounds like a no-brainer, but is often underestimated. To put in efforts and to succeed you need to love what you’re doing. The saying goes; “If you wouldn’t do what you are currently doing for free, you shouldn’t be doing it.” Is that possible? Yes, I would do my job for free if I had to because it’s what excites me. Most of the times, I can’t wait to back to work on Monday after the weekend!
With true passion and hard work you can grow your personal brand to the point of not just being a successful online entrepreneur, but being a face that’s recognizable offline as well.
Are you being creative enough?
Do not be scared of being unusual. If you have a good sense of humor, use it! Readers like blogs & posts that reflect a personality.
Sharing your personal view about something is very important; it does NOT have match the popular opinion. When posting on your blog or on social media, don’t worry too much about whether or not ALL your readers will agree to what you’re saying. Not all of them have to agree! The point is to start a conversation, state your views and get comments on them from readers.
Why should readers come to you instead of going to your competitiors?
Put yourself in your reader’s shoes and think about what would make you choose your brand against competition. Most people simply set up profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter; upload a standard business profile pic; post updated once in a while and are disappointed when the blog/fanpage doesn’t deliver.
